Easiest Blender Salsa Using a Blendtec Blender

It’s that time of year when the gardens are producing ripe veggies faster than you can deal with them.  It’s an exciting, but overwhelming experience.  Fortunately, there is a short cut for your tomatoes if you want some fresh salsa.

In Walmart’s canning section, which is usually by the housewares things, they sell Mrs. Wages salsa mix.  It comes in a 4 oz. pouch like taco seasoning or spaghetti sauce mix.  All you have to do is boil 18 medium sized tomatoes for 3 min, peel them and put them in your Blendtec Total Blender along with one Mrs. Wages salsa mix pouch.  Push the pulse button until the salsa is at your desired consistency.  Whala!   You have made fresh salsa in 5 minutes from your garden tomatoes.

Have more than 18 tomatoes?  Not a problem.  You can add ½ cup of vinegar to Mrs. Wages salsa, pulse it in your Blendtec with the tomatoes and sauce mix, and then pour it into freezer containers.  It is good for up to 1year!  No canning necessary!

This is stuff is a must have for busy schedules or the novice gardener and canner.   After all, Blendtec’s very simple control panel makes blending and storing delicious salsa easy for anyone.

Bread in a Blender??

Bread in a Blender??

A Blendtec Total Blender is more than just your average blender and smoothie maker.   Did you know it can also mix bread dough?  Crazy and strange and completely against the typical thought process, right?  Yes, it is, but it is so true.

Mixing your bread dough in the Total Blender is faster than any other method.  It takes maybe 5 minutes from adding ingredients to removing dough.  You can use any bread recipe from whole wheat to raisin and banana.  Just remember that it only mixes one loaf at a time, so adjust your recipe for a single loaf.  Then you just put the ingredients in the blender, put on the lid, and push the pulse button 20 times (each pulse is about a second).  Then you take the lid off, use a spatula to scrape the sides and corners, put the lid back on and pulse it another 20 times.  Depending on the type of bread, you may need to repeat the scrape and pulse process one more time and you are done!  Put the dough in its pan, let it rise if necessary, and then bake it!  It really works!  Clean up is fast and simple.

You can go from no bread to your favorite home made bread in an hour with very little effort.   You can even use your Total Blender to grind your wheat!  That is truly amazing!

Fast and Easy Blendtec Breakfast Smoothie

Fast and Easy Blendtec Breakfast Smoothie

Nutritious breakfast in 5 minutes?  With the Blendtec blender this is reality.  Every morning my husband makes a breakfast shake for us.  It only takes 5 minutes to make and my husband has lost 20 lbs!  Go ahead and try it for yourselves.

Fill your Blendtec jar to the top with your choice of mixed fruits such as:

  • Cut apples
  • Whole strawberries
  • Banana
  • Cut Pear
  • Cut Oranges
  • Any frozen fruit medley found in the freezer section of your store.  We really like the one with pineapple, mango, banana, and strawberry that you can buy from Walmart for around $8.   By using some frozen fruit, we don’t need to add any ice.
  • Some diet cranberry juice
  • A few scoops of whey protein powder
  • A few scoops of cold milled ground flax (we like the FlaxUSA brand)

Turn the blender on and you’ll have a healthy, delicious breakfast shake in no time.  Save any extras in the fridge and have it for lunch too!

Vitamix discount

Vitamix discount

Get the lowest prices on the Vitamix 5200 Power Blender.  These blenders are truly amazing machines.  The past week I have made Slushy s for my kids over 2 or 3 times a week.

Here is the amazing steps:

Grab 3 cups of ice and put them into the Vitamix container and turn it on.  It will require a little power in the beginning and then you can turn down the dial as things get going.

Once the ice is graded – it is ready to serve.  This slushy is the same type of ice you get at a professional slushy store.  Add your favorite syrup (which can be purchased at Amazon or Walmart) and the like. They are great.
