Blenders: Start Your Engines!
Trying to decide between a Vitamix and a Blendtec this holiday season? Both blenders have a price tag that is equivalent to each other and higher than the average blender. So why the high price? Well, let’s “lift the hood”.
Blendtec
Blendtec is excited to announce their new Total Blender DesignerSeries which will be released on December 7, 2011, but is currently available for preorder. This new blender has a revolutionary new air-flow design that keeps the blender cooler, thus lengthening the life of your blender.
The new DesignerSeries has also revved up the watts from a 1500-watt motor to a 1560 watt commercial-grade motor. The best part of that upgrade is they increased the motor power and decreased the noise level. Not only is this the quietest home blender Blendtec has built, it is also the most-powerful motor available for home use. It’s the only motor strong enough to drive the aggressive blade in Blendtec’s high-performance jar, so you don’t need a messy plunger.
The DesignerSeries has precision-machined socket that connects directly to the motor, resulting in a finely-balanced motor assembly. This reduces vibration and noise, which is critical for Blendtec’s motor speeds. It also increases reliability, because the socket never needs to be replaced (unlike most other blenders).
Want more power from your blender? Try the Tom Dickson Extreme©. This blender has an impressive 20-AMP 2400-watt direct drive motor.
Vitamix
Vitamix offers 4 different blender lines: Professional Series 500 , Vitamix 5200 series, TurboBlend VS, and Creations. All the motors on Vitamix blenders, regardless of the type, have the following specifications:
• 2-peak HP (1380 Watts) motor
• 120 volt, 60 Hz 11.5 amps (North America)
• Capable of 4,080 – 28,000 RPMs.
Whereas both blenders have impressive motors, Blendtec seems to have an edge on the power of their blenders. So take one for a spin. You’ll love the way it handles anything you want to blend!
