Most families don’t have an ice shaver, and Shave Ice in Hawaii can easily cost for one serving, however, with the Vita-Mix you can make enough for the family, for a fraction of the price and without all the processed sugar. The Vita-Mix offers multiple ways to enjoy the fresh fruits of the islands, or of course, your local grocery store. For example, in the summer months you can take the mangos or peaches off the tree and use it to flavor the ice. Another popular flavor to top your shave ice with is Li Hing Mui, commonly used in Hawaii to put on fruit as well as candy. No matter what your choice of flavor, Vita-Mix is a great way to make your “ono” (delicious) Shave Ice!

Question by raymondd7: Vita Mix Blender- Does anyone know where I can purchase this at a very low price?
I’m specifically talking about the blender I see over and over at the County Fairs. I do not have a model number. But the ones at the fairs go for about 0. I want to find the same one for around 0. Thanks!!!

The lowest price I could find online was 0 at the Hubert Company. The average price was between 0-400. You might want to look into getting a used one, which would cost less. Also, be careful when looking at the lower prices, some of them are for the container only – not the entire blender.

Yes I am very satisfied with it. It works as well now as the first day. I don’t use it daily but we do weekly. I do plan on using it daily. No regrets. I feel it was a great investment. My sister bought one and loves it too. She uses it daily.

My family and I are planning on purchasing a Vitamix this year. Are you as pleased with it now as you were 15 months ago? Do you use it daily? Thanks for making this video so that others can see what comes in the box. Blessings!

Nice video! I’ve had my 5000 for several years and never noticed a smell.
I think there are several very good reasons why they’ve never used glass (the older models had stainless steel containers). A container of this size would be VERY heavy and I imagine glass might be problematic for hot foods like soups. But I recall reading that it’s mainly for safety–if one should drop something like a spoon) into the container, it would shatter (rather violently, I suspect). These are sturdier.

There shouldn’t be any “smell” with this series. Ive just finished reading about Vitamix using a new polymer called Titan instead of the BPC plastic that the previous ones were made from.

thanks for the reply, john, i appreciate it!

  14. JohnFrankosky September 13, 2010 at 11:28 pm #

There is no smell. I don’t remember a smell when we first purchased it either. I just “smelled” it now and inside I smell some of the foods we have blended. On the outside no smell at all. I, too, would prefer glass but the container is very sturdy and easy to clean without the fear of breaking it. I love my Vitamix. We do a lot of smoothies, mainly green smoothies. I plan on posting some of these later. Thanks – John

Organicbicycle is correct (see above). I thought originally the 64 oz container was a wet/dry but it is meant for wet.

  16. organicbicycle September 14, 2010 at 12:09 am #

this is the Super pack, which comes with the wet and dry containers. the larger one is wet only, the smaller one is dry only. the size/shape of the smaller one allows grains to be dispersed evenly for proper and even grinding.

what does it smell like? i have read that the older models smell like strong plastic, and i’m interested to know what this new BPA-free plastic container smells like. i still wish they’d make glass, though, especially as expensive as it is. please reply, thanks john!

  17. peteryu65 September 14, 2010 at 1:01 am #

Hmm, are you sure the 64 oz container is wet and dry? The website says it’s wet only(or rather BEST for wet) and the dry containers is best for dry because it moves the material faster and thus reduces clogging.

I just ordered the exact thing! Super 5200 with the 2 containers! I’ve watched this video 3 times already because I’m so excited!

  19. exxodus29 September 14, 2010 at 2:12 am #

As expensive as this thing is it should also come with keys to a Mercedes!LOL

  20. exxodus29 September 14, 2010 at 2:44 am #

Since the Vitamix is such an expensive machine, I guess opening one is a major experience. I’m also considering purchasing one. Everybody is raving about these machines saying if you are going to get a good quality blender the Vitamix is the way to go. I can’t wait until I own one. It would be a big help in my transition to the raw vegan diet. I can’t wait to make my first smoothie. I’m looking forward to owning one.
