Which is better? Well, it depends on your needs and budget. Here is a quick breakdown of each of the jars offered by Blendtec and Vitamix.

Blendtec

Blendtec has 3 jars available, all of which are compatible with all Blendtec blender motors: the 2 quart basic 4-sided jar, the 3 quart 5-sided “wild side” jar, and the newest 32 oz twister jar. All three jars come with a 3-year warranty and can be used for wet or dry purposes, including grinding.

Blendtec Home Blender Jar 2 Quart Basic Jar $59.00

The classic square Blendtec design combined with the special blade design make for a very efficient blending jar. This special square jar creates a vortex and the blade keeps the ingredients pulled down meaning better blends in less time. This special combination of features allows the Blendtec 2 quart jars to be used without a tamper like some of their competitors.

Blendtec Wildside 3-quart Jar $99.00

The Wildside Blendtec Blender Jar is a unique jar that has 5 sides. The fifth side of this Blendtec blender Jar allows a high powered vortex to be created in the center that pulls all food items down into the blade for smooth consistency in fruits and food products. The patented wingtip blade is a 4” blade for a quicker, more efficient and ultra smooth blend and can withstand almost anything. The blade has a lifetime warranty.

The Blendtec Twister Jar $129.00

Blendtec’s newest innovation, the Twister Jar, is designed to blend your thickest recipes such as: Nut Butters, Hummus, Baby Food, Dips, Thick Shakes, Dressings and more!

You just add your ingredients and twist the lid counter-clockwise while the blend cycle is running. This twisting motion forces the ingredients from the sides of the jar back into the blade, making a perfect blend every time.

Vitamix

Vitamix has 4 jars to choose from: a 32-ounce dry grains container, a 32-ounce wet container, a 48-ounce wet container and a 64-ounce wet container. The Vitamix jars aren’t as versatile as the Blendtec jars in that they are wet or dry blend specific and they may not all be compatible with all Vitamix motors. They do, however have a 7-year warranty.

Vitamix 32 oz. Dry Grains container $144.00

This jar is designed for efficient processing of dry grains into flour. The 32 oz. Dry Grains container will grind fresh flour from whole grains such as whole wheat, corn, rice, rye, quinoa and more, into healthy fresh flours in seconds. It also kneads dough.

Vitamix 64 oz. container $149.00

This jar is the perfect size for family meals and entertaining. It features a soft-grip handle and 2-part vented lid to easily add ingredients while processing. You can also use the tamper to help push thick or frozen ingredients such as peanut butter and frozen desserts into the blade while the machine is running. The tamper includes a collar that keeps the tool from touching the blades during processing. The total height of this jar on its machine is usually too tall to fit under standard kitchen cabinets.
